LAHORE/ KARACHI: Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair has emphasised that political parties should focus on their economic agenda with a clear and forward-thinking vision.

Speaking at a consultative meeting of the CEO Club, Zubair said the entire focus should be on collectively transforming the economy for a more progressive and prosperous future. lkram Saigol, Shabbar Zaidi, Dr Huma Baqai, Sultana Siddiqui, Javed Akai, Aijaz Nisar and other prominent CEOs were present on the occasion.

“All political parties must unite and make coordinated efforts to showcase Pakistan before the global community,” he said.

The governor suggested that opposition, which was disruptive to economic progress and business activities, must be avoided and the next government and opposition must work together to fight the negative perception of Pakistan.

The governor was of the view that there should be no politics when it came to national causes and interests, adding economic decision-making must be left to experts without government interference.

“When economic experts independently make decisions by considering and following all required procedures, it would be beneficial for our economy,” he said.

“The bleak scenario persisting in 2013 has been changed with considerable improvement in law and order, investment and energy situation,” he said.

Terming the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor a game changer, Zubair said it would not only transform Pakistan’s infrastructure, but would also accelerate the pace of development.
