PSL off to a good start

Letter February 24, 2018
If as planned, the matches that are going to be held in Lahore and Karachi

KARACHI: Friday night’s opening ceremony of the third Pakistan Super League came with a lot of surprises. A star studded event that kept everyone hooked to their TV sets was a great start to the series. The audience turnover at the stadium in Dubai also showed that the series is not only doing really well in terms of profits but is also keeping people entertained. Pakistanis living abroad owing to their country’s state that is often plagued with terrorism and violence, usually have little to nothing to take pride in but seems like that is about to change with the success of PSL.

If as planned, the matches that are going to be held in Lahore and Karachi are carried out successfully without any security problems then, as Najam Sethi has said, we might witness the complete series of the fourth PSL in Pakistan next year. That would be a great development for the country in general and for cricket fans in particular.
