ISLAMABAD: With the removal of former PM Nawaz Sharif as the PML-N head, the top party leadership is in quandary over who to appoint in his place. The names of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of the disqualified PM, have been bought forward as the strongest contenders for the post.
But like the last time when Nawaz was removed from the post of PM this time around too he is likely to have the final word in major decision-making within the party. Albeit, unofficial, the party shall still remain under Nawaz’s political guidance and leadership. Hence, conclusively, even though the judicial verdict might have proven to be disapproving for him, it would do little to stop Nawaz Sharif from playing his leadership role in the party.
