Modi wants removal of Manohar, Srinivasan

Express May 26, 2010

Lalit Modi, the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, has asked the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) President Shashank Manohar and Secretary N Srinivasan to remove themselves from the show cause notice proceedings against him.

Modi, in an email sent to the IPL’s governing council that also carries a series of allegations over several IPL decisions, has asked an independent panel to adjudicate on the issue.

The email is Modi’s reply to the charge-sheet served on him by the BCCI on April 26 and alleges Manohar’s involvement in the franchise auction process and of Srinivasan in the 2010 IPL player auction. It is this involvement that warrants their removal from the process that investigates the charges against them.
