LAHORE: Recently, news of Chinese officials opening a round of talks with Baloch militants in Pakistan surfaced. The news was in the backdrop of ensuring the safety of CPEC projects by Baloch militants. Statements from Chinese officials that added to the authenticity of the talks have now been denied by a senator representing Balochistan, who expressed his unawareness about any such developments. Regardless of the talks being held between the two, it is important that the government takes the lead on the matter and clears the suspicion surrounding it.
