PESHAWAR: At least eight suspects were arrested by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police in search operations across Peshawar late on Tuesday night.

According to sources, security officials conducted raids across the provincial capital under the supervision of SP Cantt, DSP Town and SHO Town.

The police recovered arms and ammunition including two rifles, 25 cartridges, one 9mm pistol, one 30-bore pistol. At least 45 houses were searched with 60 people cleared under Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS) and 110 vehicles cleared under Vehicle Verification System (VVS) by the police.

Fearing suicide attack, Bajaur Agency on ‘high alert’

On Monday, two suspected suicide bombers were killed during a security operation in Bajaur Agency. Political Administration officials confirmed that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Katkay area of District Mamond.

During the raid, two suicide bombers blew themselves up while another opened fire. He was killed by security personnel in the exchange of fire.
