LHC orders PEPCO to develop website

LAHORE: Justice Umer Ata Bandial of the Lahore High Court ordered Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) to develop a website and upload the load-shedding schedule on it.

The orders were issued while the court we as hearing a petition on Wednesday.

The petition was filed by Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi of save judiciary committee, against load-shedding and fuel adjustment charges.

The petitioner's counsel, Barrister Farooq Hassan, contended that the loadshedding schedule submitted by PEPCO was not correct and facts mentioned in it were entirely different than reality.

He submitted that unequal loadshedding was going on and many cities were exempted from it.

However, after hearing the arguments, the court directed respondents including PEPCO and WAPDA to file a detailed reply on main petition and related applications on the next hearing.

The court adjourned the hearing till June 15.
