The district government of Multan concluded a two-day camp to administer swine flu (H1N1) vaccines to journalists, free-of-charge on Monday.
The camp was set up at the Directorate General Public Relations’ (DPGR) cantonment office. The initiative was taken by Deputy Commissioner Multan Nadir Chatta who visited the camp office on Monday at the end of a two-day vaccination program.
Iram Saleemi, DGPR Information Officer, said that all registered members of Multan Press Club including working journalists had been vaccinated after being screened. The camp functioned from 10am to 10pm for the two days and qualified doctors and paramedical staff remained on duty to facilitate the journalists, she added.
Multan health official Dr Shahid Bukhari, said that journalists are prone to contracting swine flu because they visit hospitals to report about those suffering from swine flu.
