Punjab’s educational reforms

Letter February 20, 2018
Financial irregularities are likely to undermine the efforts of the government

FAISALABAD: The report on the financial discrepancies in Punjab’s higher education department combined with the statements by the Punjab assembly’s opposition leader, Mahmoodur Rasheed, that 11 million children are out of school in the province put the provincial government’s robust educational reforms under question.

The Punjab government fares far better in terms of educational reforms introduced in the province as compared to other provinces, although K-P has given a close competition to it.

The financial irregularities are likely to undermine the efforts of the government and therefore, they must be addressed and looked into on a prompt basis.
