Power and outrage

Letter May 26, 2010

KARACHI: This refers to reports in your newspaper of irate people attacking KESC maintenance staff and blocking traffic. One can understand that millions of people all over the country have to brave hours of loadshedding. However, violence against the very people who can fix the fault serves no purpose and further delays the repair process and prolongs the misery of citizens who wait without resorting to violence. Also, may I ask what purpose does the burning of old tires achieve except to expose those who burn them to inhaling dangerous fumes?
