QUETTA: Journalists, who have dedicated their lives to provide truth and honesty to the nation, spared a few moments on Sunday to celebrate the Basant festival.

The word ‘Bo kata’ from a famous song sung by a local artist Fariha Parvez could be heard everywhere during the festival organised on the rooftop of the Quetta Press Club (QPC).

The festival was inaugurated by QPC President Razaur Rehman and General Secretary Abdul Khaliq Rind.

Many senior and rising journalists of print and electronic media were also present with their families in large numbers.

A musical programme was also organised for journalists by the QPC where they enjoyed every moment of it with their families.

Some senior and young journalists even danced to the tune of traditional folk music.

The QPC had also organised a lunch for the guests.

Journalists appreciated the efforts of the press club in keeping its promise of organising the Basant festival.

They said events like Basant gave the journalist community the opportunity to take some time off for themselves from their tight schedules and helped them relax.

They welcomed and appreciated the efforts of QPC organisers to gather journalists on a single platform.

Journalists busy in flying kites on the roof of QPC said the event was successful as it succeeded in gathering old friends and spread smiles on their faces.
