Chunky Panday's daughter finalised as lead for 'Student Of The Year 2'

Ever since Karan Johar announced the sequel of his 2012 movie Student Of The Year, speculations regarding who will play the lead have been floating in full swing.

Actors such as Disha Patani, Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday were rumoured to star opposite Tiger Shroff for the last year. However, the rumours can now be put to rest as it has finally been revealed who will play the female lead in this rom-com.

Student Of The Year 2 will have two female lead actors, unlike its prequel which had two male leads, reported Cosmopolitan. Chunky Panday's daughter, Ananya Panday had been already finalised for the first lead role.

Apparently,, Karan auditioned close to 800 girls for the part before deciding on Ananya. "Karan, Tiger Shroff and director Punit Malhotra were present at the audition where Ananya was asked to read out Alia's lines from Student Of The Year. And Ananya sailed through like a professional," a source shared in a statement.

The other lead actress who has been finalised is Tara Sutaria! The former Disney Channel India alumnus has worked on shows like The Suit Life of Karan & Kabir, Oye Jassie, and Shake It Up, and even the reality show, Entertainment Ke Lie Kuch Bhi Karega as a teenager.

Tara is not new to the acting world and is a professional dancer and musician, which has further raised our excitement to see her onscreen with Tiger and Ananya.
