More than 50 top furniture and interior designing brands participating

Laghari said he expects the exhibition to allow younger designers and architects to see market trends and display their own work alongside that of more established professionals.
The event will be attended by members of diplomatic corps, government bodies, leading business delegations, Islamabad and Rawalpindi Chambers of Commerce (ICCI and RCCI), Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce (FPCCI) and stakeholders of the furniture industry.
Furniture Sector: PFC aims to attract investment
"In order to promote and enhance the compatibility of the furniture industry and craftsmanship of Pakistan for foreign markets, the Pakistan government has developed a strategy which encompasses creation of a company called 'Furniture Pakistan'," a press release stated.
Furniture Pakistan works under the Ministry of Industries and Production and the basic structure of the company was formulated in 2007-08, the release added.
Need for disabled-friendly architecture urged
Pakistan's wood industry is well developed and satisfies 95% of the total demand from the furniture sector. The country has more than 700 units of wooden furniture with Chiniot alone accounting for 80% of furniture production in the country. Gujarat, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi are also important centres of production.
The top 50 Furniture brands will exhibit at the event. Master Foam is the official sponsor of the event, while Master Celeste, Inter wood, Decent Furnishers, Chinese Craftsman, Style & Comfort, Wood Castle, ikon home and Su casa being the other prominent exhibitors.
