Sukkur celebrates Japanese Cultural Day

Japanese consul-general hopes such cultural events would be a good opportunity for Pakistanis to experience Japan

The Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi and the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA) jointly organised an event, 'Japanese Culture Day in Sukkur' at the institute on Friday. The event attracted the interest of those present through use of Japanese calendars, films and ikebana, a Japanese style of flower arrangement, for the purpose of deepening mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Pakistan. The event comprised three components - the Japanese calendar exhibition, the Japanese film show and an ikebana workshop. These three programmes provided an image and knowledge of Japan from various aspects. The consul-general of Japan in Karachi expressed his hope that such cultural events would be a good opportunity for people of Pakistan to experience Japan and lead to enhancing bilateral ties between the two countries.
