ISLAMABAD:
The maritime department revealed on Wednesday that China will build the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Training Institute in Gwadar to fulfill the technical and skilled manpower requirements for building and running the deep-sea port. “The institute will help fulfil maritime technical and skilled manpower requirements after the development of industrial projects including the Gwadar Port Free Zone, Export Processing Zone and other industrial and port-related projects,” an official of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs told APP. He added that local people are the main stakeholders of Gwadar and that their participation in operation and management of the deep-sea port, industrial and commercial businesses, and the urbanisation process is key to the long-term development of the port city.
