Balochistan Cabinet meeting: Bizenjo wants ‘extra’ private sector investment

QUETTA: For eliminating the scourge of unemployment from the province, Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has stressed the need for encouraging private sector investment.

“The cabinet has decided to encourage private sector investment in Balochistan that will provide more job opportunities for the youth,” said the chief minister while chairing the Balochiostan Cabinet meeting on Monday.

Bizenjo says steps being taken to end unemployment

Provincial ministers, advisers Sarfraz Bugti, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Asim Kurd Gelo, Sarfaraz Chakar Domki, Syed Agha Raza, Amir Rind, Haji Ghulam Dastagir Badini, Muhammad Akbar Askani, Manzoor Khan Kakar, Abdul Majid Abro, Prince Ahmed Ali, Zia Langove, Ruqiya Hashmi, Rahat Jamali, Kohda Babar, Hamal Kalmati, Balochistan Chief Secretary Aurangzaib Haq, Additional Chief Secretary Naseebullah Bazai, secretary finance, secretary law, IG Police Muzzam Jha Ansari and other officials were in attendance.

Bizenjo said, “We have already wasted enough time. Now, we have to increase the pace of development work for the benefit of the people.”

Besides reviewing under-developed projects and other issues, the cabinet approved various projects of economic importance.

Bizenjo orders holding weekly open katcheris

The cabinet approved Private Partnership Act that will pave ways for private business firms to shift their business and development schemes to Balochistan.

The cabinet also approved appointment of teachers on temporary basis in remote districts of Balochistan. It directed the education department to fill vacant posts on provincial government’s merit policy. It also ordered to approve Sanctioned New Expenditures of Primary Schools through MPAs’ funds.

Taking notice of shortage of clean drinking water in Sui Town, the cabinet approved installation of filtration plants for more than 100,000 people of the town.

Bizenjo distributes laptops among journalists

The food secretary briefed the cabinet meeting on the position of wheat stocks in the province. The cabinet approved provision of government wheat to the flour mills on subsidised rates.

For disabled persons, the cabinet approved allocation of special fund for disables persons so that they could walk with the society.

The meeting decided to expand the Civil Defence Department on divisional level by opening more of its offices in the province.

Discussing development schemes in Gwadar, the cabinet decided to build a Judicial Complex and approved its PC-1.
