ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Sultan Azam Temuri has said that effective and successful policing was impossible without cooperation from the public, especially the youth.

He said this while addressing volunteers participating in a campaign by the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP). The campaign is aimed at creating awareness about traffic rules among citizens.

The ITP already has a campaign going on to ensure safe road environment. The campaign was launched on the directions of the IGP. Around 26 students of Capital University of Science and Technology are educating road users about safety measures.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Malik Matloob Ahmed is monitoring the campaign and pamphlets about traffic rules are being distributed at important boulevards, avenues and intersections of the city.

The IGP said that policing model of Islamabad was being followed by police of other provinces and hoped to make road environment in the capital completely safe.
