ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar took notice on Tuesday of Shahrukh Jatoi, the main accused in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, being shifted to hospital after his bail was rejected by the top court.

The CJP has called for a report from Sindh IGP as well as the IG Jails Sindh within 24 hours in this regard.

Shahrukh was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) on February 10.

'Backache' takes Sharukh Jatoi back in hospital

According to the director of the hospital, Dr Seemin Jamali, Shahrukh was shifted to the hospital after complaints of back pain.

A statement can only be issued once the final report arrives, Dr Jamali said. Different tests of the suspect will be conducted, she added.

On February 1, the Supreme Court ordered arrest of Shahrukh and two co-accused in the Shahzeb murder case after setting aside their acquittal by a trial court and removal of anti-terrorism charges by the Sindh High Court.

Following the hearing, the accused were taken into custody by the Islamabad police after the verdict was read out by Justice Nisar.
