Teenager claims to be raped by policemen

SP City Wasim Riaz said that they were investigating the matter and that the findings will be shared with the media

PESHAWAR: A teenager, booked for stealing motorbikes, has accused police officers from two police stations of allegedly raping him. Police, though, have refuted the claim as propaganda.

A video in this regards has also gone viral on social media.

“I was arrested by policemen from the Pishtakhara and Hayatabad police stations who raped me,” the 14-year-old boy says in the video, which is available with The Express Tribune.

“The video was made by the child while sitting in a police van after he had been produced before a court. He told the court the same thing,” a police official told The Express Tribune, adding that the juvenile had been arrested on charges of stealing motorbikes by the Tajabad and the Hayatabad police.

Meanwhile, SP City Wasim Riaz said that they were investigating the matter and that the findings will be shared with the media.

“The boy in the video, a resident of Tajabad, is accused of motorbike lifting. He was arrested last night and produced in the court today in FIR registered by Hayatabad police station,” said SSP Javed while responding to the allegations.

Last month, an elite force police official was arrested on charges of allegedly raping and blackmailing a 15-year-old boy in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Haripur town, Express News reported.

The victim, S*, in his recorded statement with the local police, claimed that Shehzad, the alleged culprit, raped him on multiple occasions and also made a video of the act.

S* said the video was being used to blackmail him into having sexual relations with the accused and his friends.

Local police said the accused has been arrested after a case was lodged against him.
