Nation braces for more rain after snowfall hits northern areas

Snowfall pummelled Galyat on Monday as the winter breeze hit the the northern areas of the country, Express News reported.

According to the meteorological department, more rain and thunderstorms accompanied by snowfall is expected over the hills at scattered places in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Federally Administered Tribal Areas( Fata), northern Punjab, the federal capital, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

While cold and dry weather is also expected elsewhere in the country.

Malamjabba, Murree, Ziarat , Kalam, and Rawalakot have all seen snowfall.

The lowest temperatures were experienced in Skardu and Parachinar with minus five degree Celcius.

Rain is expected in most areas of the country with snowfall in northern areas.

Rain is expected in the next 48 hours in different areas of the country and snowfall in upper areas.

Rain is expected on February 13 in Quetta, Zhob, DG Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bhawalpur division, with snowfall in Malakand, Hazara division, Kashmir, G-B, Murree and Galiyat.

The lowest recorded temperatures in the last 24 hours include Islamabad where it was one degrees celsius, Lahore where six degrees was recorded, Peshawar with two degrees and Quetta with minus three.
