KARACHI: The ninth edition of the immensely acclaimed Karachi Literature Festival started on Friday, February 9th. Over the past eight years the festival has emerged as one of the most celebrated events, spread over three days, offering readers and visitors numerous intellectually stimulating panel discussions and sessions. The festival holds much importance for the literati for being organised in times where owing to the social media boom, the younger generation is unaware of the charm of reading books in its conventional form.
The festival alongside the aforementioned offers a range of literary books written by renowned writers. The festival is also graced with the presence of acclaimed speakers from different walks of life. It is indeed a commendable effort. It goes to the credit of the above-mentioned festival that literature festivals are now being organised in other cities of the country as well.
