Motorway police launches awareness drive

Vehicles with tinted glasses will not be allowed on national highways and motorway

LAHORE: The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) has launched a three-day awareness drive against tinted glasses, fancy number plates and unregistered vehicles.

DIG Mirza Faran Baig said on Friday that vehicles with tinted glasses will not be allowed on national highways and motorway and strict action will be taken against the owners of these vehicles after three-day awareness campaign.

He added the vehicles will be impounded and heavy fine will also be imposed in case of violation. He said that operation against tinted glasses will be carried out without any discrimination. He directed the NH&MP officials to remove tinted and black mirrors from the vehicles immediately after three days.

The DIG maintained that owners of vehicles using tinted glasses or fancy number plates should immediately remove them as they were in violation of traffic rules.
