Rescue 1122 receives 50,001 calls

On an average rescue teams reached the spot within a short span of average 6.80 minutes

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Divisional Emergency Officer Dr Asif Raheem Channar said that Rescue 1122 had received 50,001 phone calls during January and of them, 3,334 phone calls pertained to emergency like situation.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of officials of Emergency Service 1122 to review the monthly performance of the rescue organization on Thursday. He said the rescue teams reached the spot within a short span of average 6.80 minutes.

“The personnel of Rescue 1122 remained alert every time to respond to any emergency phone call and resultantly, the rescue teams reached the spot within a short span of average 6.80 minutes to rescue people,” he added. Asif Raheem maintained that last month, the personnel of Rescue 1122 dealt with incidents pertaining to emergency situation, including 920 traffic accidents, 32 fire incidents, 57 disputes, 1,956 medical related incidents and 369 others. “Rescue 1122 rescued 3,256 people in Bahawalpur during January,” he pointed out. He added that 1101 persons were provided first aid, while 2,155 injured were shifted to hospitals.
