LAHORE: Shortly after their concerts in Melbourne and Sydney, the multi-platinum South Asian band JoSH, has rocked Lahore with a power-packed Bhangra performance, leaving a large energetic crowd in frenzy.

The Indo-Pakistan music duo jammed the night away at the Lahore Fort (Shahi Qila) at the kick-off of HBL PSL celebrations. Singing JoSH Nal, Mahi Ve, Aye Mausam and Nasha Pyar Da amongst other hits in their signature style. Rup Magon and Qurram Hussain were unstoppable and their surroundings almost transformed into a hip dance floor.

“We have performed in more than 150 cities but trust me when I say that this show is one of the most memorable for us. Not only due to the historical venue but also due to the amazing crowd," Qurram told The Express Tribune.

Qurram believed that the most satisfying performance is a combination of a great venue, creative sound and a highly charged crowd. “We had all the three at this concert. I'll remember the great experience I felt on stage - I kept throwing in more songs because I was having so much fun,” he added.

However, the concert was more of an emotive experience for Magon as he recently starred in The Black Prince, a historical film based on the life of Duleep Singh, the last Maharajah of the Sikh Empire and youngest son Maharaja Ranjit Singh's youngest son.

“As always, performing in Lahore is special but this concert was on another level.  We were connected to the crowd from our very first song. The nostalgic vibes at Shahi Killa were nerve wrecking," shared Magon.

He continued, "To think that some of the most important Kings of our time including Maharaja Ranjit Singh roamed these quarters made the entire experience surreal!”

The band is scheduled to perform at a couple more concerts in Lahore including at the Packages Mall on Valentine’s Day, before leaving for their hometown Toronto. Qurram is also likely to make a short stay in Dubai to finalise his upcoming solo project.
