Pu Mushaira: Banyan a big hit among students

LAHORE: Students waved their t-shirts and vests in the air demanding that poet Anwar Masood recite his famous poem ‘Banyan’ at a mehfil-i-mushaira at Faisal Auditorium, New Campus, on Thursday. The audience burst into applause when Masood granted them their wish, the highlight of an evening of poetry organised by the Punjab University’s Student Teacher Centre (STC). Thousands of teachers and students attended the event. Vice-Chancellor Prof Mujahid Kamran presided over the occasion while National Language Authority Chairman Iftikhar Arif was chief guest.
