Two ‘drug smugglers’ killed in Chagai district

Official sources say drug smugglers started firing on FC as they chasing drug-loaded vehicles

QUETTA: Two suspected drug smugglers were killed while another sustained injuries on Monday in an exchange of firing with the Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan's Chagai district.

According to official sources, in the exchange of fire in the Siyah Reg area of Nokundi, a few smugglers managed to flee after torching their drugs-loaded vehicle.

They said that the drug smugglers opened fire on the FC personnel after they started chasing them. During the exchange of fire, two smugglers were killed while one was injured and arrested.

The arrested smuggler was identified as Mazar Khan, who is being interrogated by the security agency.

The deceased smugglers were identified as Ilahi Bakhsh and Qadir Jan Hassanzai, who hailed from the Aamuri area of the district. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to their heirs by Levies force in Nokundi.
