PESHAWAR:
An 11-year-old-girl was kidnapped from the Wahid Garhi area within the remits of Khazna police station, officials said on Sunday.

A police official told The Express Tribune that the brother of the girl had submitted an application to the Khazana police station, stating that 11-year-old K* had gone to a religious seminary to study the Holy Quran on January 28.

When she did not return, her family began to worry and started looking for her.

In their application, K’s brother alleged that I* and his mother, who are residents of Katlang area in Mardan, had allegedly kidnapped her.

The complainant further accused I to be a member of a gang which was involved in kidnapping innocent girls and then selling them in different parts of the country.

“The girl’s family originally hails from Bajuar but has been living in the Wahid Gahri area, located on the outskirts of Peshawar, for the past three decades,” the police officer said, adding that they had registered an FIR in the case and were investigating it.
