PESHAWAR: Villagers on Wednesday killed a rabid dog which had bit at least two people in the past 24 hours on the outskirts of Peshawar. Speaking to The Express Tribune, a local elder of Sheikhan village said that last night, a man had been bitten by a dog and that the locals were searching for the four-legged creature.  On Wednesday the same animal reportedly attacked another man identified as Subhanullah. The man was severally injured by the animal and had to be shifted to the hospital for treatment, the elder said. “The dog had rabies, locals chased it and killed it,” he said, adding that both men who had been bitten by the dog were currently undergoing treatment for their injuries at the hospital. “There are a number of stray dogs in the area and we fear that others could also have rabies. Hence, it is time that the local government takes notice of the situation,” he said, suggesting that the government either neuter the dogs or take more drastic efforts.
