These scholarships were given out at an event organised by the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) at a local school in Hagia Gali, in Nathiagali for students who excelled in the annual examinations of the local board during 2017.
MPA Amana Sardar, who was the chief guest, and gave away scholarships worth Rs25,000 and Rs50,000 to top performing students from 12 girls and boys schools in the region.
Sardar said that such activities raise the confidence of the public on the departments. It also affects the progress and performance of the department, she added.
Noting that departments should own the public, she said that closer ties and the involvement of stakeholders are rewarding for both.
