Sindh’s poor performance

It is time the provincial government paid attention to these issues for the betterment of the common people

WAHI PANDHI: Sindh is facing many problems like terrorism, bad law and order and corruption. Though it has a lot of natural resources, no prosperity has been witnessed in the province.

It has one of the lowest literacy rate compared to other provinces, especially because of its ruling party’s apathy. The Sindh government has totally failed to solve the problem of unemployment, lack of education, shortage of facilities in healthcare, among many others.

Though many factories and oil companies are functioning in Sindh, they are unwilling to hire locals and the government doesn’t do anything to facilitate them either. On the other hand, many talented people aren’t hired because the jobs they have applied for have already been sold to influential persons or given to ones recommended by them.

The lack of quality education is also pushing students towards drug addiction, as there are neither good schools nor motivated teachers. This also leads to parents sending their children to work at small workshops and in other fields instead of schools.

Healthcare facilities, especially in rural areas are in a neglected state. As a result, residents of these areas are forced to travel to urban centres but those who can’t afford to do that die of poverty-induced illnesses.

It is time the provincial government paid attention to these issues for the betterment of the common people.
