ISLAMABAD:

Dubbing incumbent Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif as a security risk, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday decided to initiate legal proceedings against him at different forums.

“The PTI intends to take stern legal action against Asif due to his involvement in corruption and corrupt practices. Proofs of his corruption will soon be handed over to National Accountability Bureau,” said a statement issued by party’s central media department following PTI core group meeting here in Bani Gala.

The PTI core group also condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Kabul which claimed dozens of precious lives.

The party also approved to constitute a task force led by Aleem Khan to scrutinise projects of the Punjab government in a bid to bring into open the details of corruption and kickbacks involved in the mega development projects initiated by the government of PML-N.

“The corruption of Shehbaz Sharif and cronies including Ashiana Housing Scheme will be brought to light by the task force,” statement reads.

The PTI welcomed the apex court’s decision regarding the overseas Pakistanis right to vote saying the party was struggling for the voting rights of overseas Pakistanis since long and now due to Supreme Court’s intervention it seems the issue would be resolved soon.
