Naqeebullah murder case: Two witnesses record statements in court

The witnesses held former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and other police officers responsible

KARACHI: Two witnesses have recorded their statements in the Naqeeubullah Mehsud murder case. The investigations SSP presented the two eye-witnesses before the Malir judicial magistrate to record their confessional statements under Section 164 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Strict security arrangements were made on the occasion.

Both witnesses, in their statements, shared that they were taken into custody along with Naqeebullah and were brutally tortured but later released. They later learnt about the murder of Naqeebullah in an encounter.

The witnesses held former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and other police officers responsible. The court sealed the statements of the witnesses after recording them and accepted the holding of an identity parade of the suspects upon submission of an application by the police. The identity parade will be held on the next hearing.
