PKLI to provide free treatment to liver patients

System of infection control, construction of nursing school, and allied health project would start soon

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said setting up of the Pakistan and Kidney Liver Institute (PKLI) was a historic initiative of the Punjab government and free treatment to poor patients would be provided at the hospital.

Presiding over a meeting which discussed progress on the second phase of the  Pakistan and Kidney Liver Institute on Saturday, he said services of top companies of the world would be obtained for performance audit of the hospital.

The CM said an ideal system of infection control would be introduced for the PKLI and the construction of a nursing school and allied health project would be started soon.

Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare Khawaja Salman Rafique, PKLI president Dr Saeed Akhtar, Dr Masooma Zahid, VC University of Health Sciences Dr Faisal Masood, secretaries of concerning departments, DG PHA and officials concerned attended the meeting.
