Two suspects arrested, three at large

ISLAMABAD: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two men who were allegedly impersonating police and other government officials.

Officials of Sihala police station also recovered a wireless set and a bogus service card from the two suspects identified as Adeel Iqbal and Ghulam Abbas.

Moreover, Khanna police have registered a case against three unidentified men, who while impersonating Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police officials, deprived a man of his mobile phone and damaged his vehicle in Burma Town. The suspects, according to the complainant, were wearing uniforms of K-P police.

Gambling den busted

Sihala police have arrested eight gamblers during a raid on a gambling den in Bahria Town and recovered stake money, mobile phones, laptops, computer, hashish, heroin, liquor and weapons from them.

The suspects were identified as Muhammad Imran, Tariq Mehmood, Ziaul Hassan, Sheriz, Javed, Irfan, Arif, and Sajjad. Police said the suspects were gambling on South Africa-India cricket match and ludo. The raids were conducted by Sihala police in Bahria Town phase 7 on Friday.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, police have arrested five suspected dacoits and recovered two pistols from them.The Waris Khan police, acting on a tip-off, raided a house in Millat Colony and arrested five suspected robbers namely Abdul Wahab, Osama, Raja Haris, Tahirullah and Muhammad Bilal and recovered two 30 bore pistol with 7 rounds from their possession.
