Russian consortium to arrive in Pakistan today

Is looking to invest in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s energy sector

ISLAMABAD: Representatives of Inter Rao and Himmash Apparat, a Russian oil and gas consortium that specialises in the sector, is arriving in Pakistan today, with the intention of investing Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) energy sector.

The Russian company has been actively pursuing investment opportunities in K-P, according to a statement released by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL).

As per the schedule, KPOGCL has arranged meetings with all the stakeholders which will help them in executing the projects on a fast-track basis. “KPOGCL is playing an active role as facilitator, and will brief the investors on financial and technical aspects of the projects,” the statement added.

Pakistan and Russia have been actively pursuing ventures in the energy sector. Given Russia’s expertise in the area and its export potential, Pakistan is looking to benefit as it aims to restructure its energy sector.
