A five-member PBC appeal committee for Sindh, headed by Advocate Ghulam Shabbir Shar, through an order on Friday suspended the SHCBA election committee and also approved the 1,280-member voter list.
"All the parties present have agreed to hold the elections under the supervision of the SBC without any delay," the order, signed by Shar and four other advocates, Muhammad Yousuf Laghari, Akhtar Hussain, Azam Nazeer Tarar and Syed Qalb-i-Hassan, read. "It is regretted that the SHCBA elections are being delayed for the last two years, which is against the rules of PBC and such an act can't be approved of."

The elections of the SHCBA, Hyderabad, which has over 1,900 members, all of whom are not eligible to vote for certain reasons, were scheduled for January 13. However, on January 9, the SBC deferred the polls till January 20, following a complaint about fake voters while also slashing over 500 voters from the list.
Subsequently, the SBC's order was challenged in the PBC, which on January 18 further postponed the elections till January 27.
Advocates Ayaz Hussain Tunio, Ghulamullah Chang and Nisar Ahmed Durrani are contesting on the seat of SHCBA president and advocates Muhammad Aslam Bhatti and Waseem Shah for vice-president. The contenders for the general secretary include advocates Ishrat Lohar, Mir Ahmed Mangrio, Taj Muhammad Keerio and Mumtaz Alam Laghari.
