Civil society condemns Indian aggression, unprovoked shelling

Speakers say Pakistan should record protest at UNO

MULTAN: The civil society and business community of Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan Divisions have strongly condemned the Indian aggression, unprovoked heavy mortar shelling and killing of at least six more citizens and injuring 19 people in Phookaliyaan-Bajwat, Chaprar, Sucheetgarh, Harpal, Bajra Garhi, Charwah and ZafarwalShakargarh sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary. While speaking to The Express Tribune on Sunday, Advocate Shahbaz Gurmani strongly condemned the Indian aggression and unprovoked firing at the Line of Control and adjoining areas. He said that Pakistan must record its protest at UNO over the illegitimate actions of India that resulted in killing of innocent citizens. Similarly, Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) President Malik Asrar Ahmed Awan said, “It is a pity that United Nations is silent on the situation and there is no letup in fourday-long Indian shelling on Sialkot border villages along the Working Boundary.” He vehemently condemned the Indian aggression and unprovoked heavy mortar shelling on the border villages. targeting the civilian population in the border villages. The shelling also killed several buffaloes, cows, donkeys and goats, besides badly damaging dozens of houses. He said that Security Council should take notice of such an aggression. Civil Society Network President Maroof Naeemullah said the Indian forces along the LoC and the Working boundary were continuously

targeting civilian populated areas with heavy mortars and automatic weapons. In 2018, the Indian forces carried out more than 150 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary in just 20 days, resulting in the martyrdom of nine innocent civilians , while injuring 40 others. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.
