JHELUM: Effective delivery of court notices was an important part of the justice process.

This was stated by Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah while visiting the Sessions Courts in Jhelum on Saturday.

“We should perform our duties with utmost diligence,” he said as he was flanked by retired Supreme Court Justice Fazal Kareem, High Court Justice Qazi Muhammad Ameen, High Court Justice Shahid Karim, High Court Justice Sham Mehmood Mirza and Justice (retired) Abdul Sattar Asghar.

“Treat your jobs as if worship and provide utmost relief to the public so that we develop as a peaceful society,” said Shah who had recently been nominated by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan for elevation to the Supreme Court.

Addressing the critical need for timely delivery of justice, LHC CJ Shah asked the judges and court officials of Jhelum to speed up the judicial process.

“We are regularly analyzing proceedings and orders of court cases,” he said, “do your utmost to ensure speedy justice for all cases.”

Earlier, Justice Shah had been accorded a warm reception by the judicial and legal community of Jhelum, including a ‘guard of honour’ as he inaugurated the Justice Fazal Karim Library and a newly constructed gym at the court.

The LHC Chief Justice commended the efforts of Justice (retired) Fazal Karim and appreciated the crucial role of library and its resources in helping judges make better decisions.
