An inexperienced person being handed power is an accident waiting to happen, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal made these remarks referring to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief while addressing a public gathering in Narowal on Saturday.

"The people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa [(K-P] did not vote for the PTI leadership to stage sit-ins in Punjab but for them to develop the province," he said.

"It's been four years since he [Imran Khan] announced Peshawar's Metro Bus Project but it only exists on paper still," he added.

"Shehbaz Sharif completed the Metro Bus Project in only 11 months which shows that actions speak louder than words," Iqbal said.

International forces are trying to pressurise Pakistan: Ahsan Iqbal

"Union council chairpersons have more experience working for the masses than him [Imran]," he added.

Iqbal said that by cursing the parliament the PTI chief has not tried to humiliate the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government but the people of Pakistan.

They [Sheikh Rasheed and Imran Khan] are still taking their stipend from the parliament but choose to stand on a container and abuse the very same institution," he said.

"Cursing parliament is tantamount to making a mockery of democracy itself," Iqbal said.

"Those who sell their loyalties for their own personal gains can never be well wishers of Pakistan," he added.
