SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Sheikh, who headed a two-judge bench, threw out application seeking post-arrest bail for the officer, who had earlier escaped from the court following cancellation of his pre-arrest bail.
Tahir again tried to escape from the Supreme Court (SC), which had dismissed his plea for pre-arrest bail on January 6 last year, but the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials had arrested him.
NAB had filed a reference against Tahir, former finance AIG Fida Hussain and others for misappropriating funds meant for petrol in the police department.
The petitioner's lawyer, Advocate Faiz Shah, argued that the money was released from the secret fund of the inspector-general (IG) of police. He pleaded to the court to grant post-arrest bail to the suspended police officer, arguing that the matter needed further investigation.

Opposing the bail plea, the NAB special prosecutor contended that the petitioner was involved in the graft scam and the federal anti-graft watchdog had filed a reference in this regard with the concerned accountability bureau.
The prosecutor further argued that the Supreme Court had also made very strong observations against the petitioner and other police officers in a matter relating to corruption in police funds.

After hearing arguments from both the sides, the bench dismissed the bail petition.
