ISLAMABAD:

Motorway police officials have lived up to the good image of their department. In a show of honesty and professional responsibility, two officials of the police returned over a million rupees they found on the body of a person.

Sajid Ali was carrying over Rs1,086,700 in cash with him when he met a fatal accident on GT Road. According to the officials, Ali was riding a motorbike when he was hit by a car bearing registration number LEF-9850 from rear and fell on the ground.

Two patrolling officers of Motorway Police, Malik Sajjad and Sohaib Abdul Majid reached the spot and rushed Ali to the nearby hospital where he died.

The two officers searched the body for his identity and traced his residence to Gujrat District. While conducting the search of the body, the two police officials recovered over a million rupees in cash concealed in the pockets of the vest Ali was wearing under his shirt.

During the scrutiny of the documents recovered from Ali, the police officials found a contact number of Ali’s brother Sajjad Ali Butt. NH&MP officers contacted Butt and after completing all legal formalities, they handed him Ali’s money.

As for these two gentlemen, who have shown that this nation does not only have dacoits and killers among its ranks, it also have people who know the meaning of honesty and humanity.
