Wapda fuel sale: Driver arrested, names 7 ‘accomplices’

The case has now been transferred to FIA provincial headquarters.

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Punjab chapter has arrested a WAPDA driver for allegedly selling Wapda’s petrol and diesel.

According to a report sent by FIA’s Multan additional director to the FIA Punjab, eight Wapda officials, including an XEN, two SDOs, four line superintendents and the arrested driver, were involved in the scam.

The case has now been transferred to FIA provincial headquarters. The FIA Punjab director, Waqar Haider, has constituted a three-member team to investigate the case and submit the report to FIA Punjab office along with the FIR and evidence.

According to the report, the driver, Muhammad Subhani, was arrested red handed while selling 375 litres of diesel. He confessed to the crime and also named others who he said had been involved in the selling for the last two years. Our correspondent
