Man booked for attempted rape of niece in Karachi

KARACHI: Police have booked a man for allegedly attempting to rape his own niece inside their house within the limits of Sacchal police station. An FIR No 3/18 was registered at the police station on behalf of a woman who told the police in her statement that her brother-in-law attempted to molest her eight-year-old daughter at their house located at Ramazan Gabol Goth.

SHO Shakir Ali said the police registered a case on Wednesday following the mother's complaint, adding that the medical test of the victim was also conducted at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and the police were waiting for the reports.

SHO Ali claimed that the police registered the case on the complaint of the mother as the father had refused to register the case.

The SHO added that the police were looking for the suspect who had gone into hiding. Further investigations are under way. Our Correspondent
