The move is a major development towards transformation of AIOU into electronic university in a gradual process, as per the vision of the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui.

While presiding over a briefing session on e-learning, Dr Shahid Siddiqui said AIOU was trying to provide most comfortable mode of education to its students. This is a wonderful development in the 43-year history of AIOU, he added.

With this new development, the Learning Management System (LMS) has been configured to execute online activities among students and tutors. LMS is an application programs which provides an infrastructure for the delivery and management of learning contents.

The university has also started providing training to students and tutors on using LMS and actively participates in online activities.

Special training manuals based on What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG) have been developed. Novice teachers and students could learn LMS activities by just reading and executing these dry lab manuals.
