Possibility of new religio-political parties making gains in next general election cannot be entirely ruled out

LAHORE: A recent report by the Asian Nikkei Review highlights the possibility of the PML-N winning the upcoming general elections once again. Given the infrastructural development and education and health reforms undertaken by the ruling PML-N, it has certainly delivered more compared to the previous two governments of the PPP and the PML-Q. Though the PML-N’s current term remained surrounded by corruption scandals and its challenging approach towards the judiciary, the less likelihood of any other major political party like the PPP or the PTI making it to the next federal government has added to the chances of the current ruling party to form a government for the fourth time, according to the report.

Yet the possibility of the new religio-political parties making gains in the next general election cannot be entirely ruled out.
