
He was presiding over a meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order organised on Saturday. The Inspector General Police (IGP) gave a briefing on the callous rape and murder case of the minor girl in Kasur.
Addressing the meeting, the chief minister said that facts should be brought before the public after the arrest of the accused so that the victim family could get justice. He added that extreme brutality was inflicted on the minor girl and heartless accused would have to pay for it.

The chief minister said the killer could not escape justice and would get exemplary punishment. He said all requirements of justice would be fulfilled in the deaths of two persons in the firing incident and the accused would be punished. He said he would personally monitor the progress on both cases. He directed the IGP to visit Kasur daily to review progress on both cases and for this purpose, IGP could use helicopter of the chief minister.
Directing the DG Punjab forensic laboratory and the additional secretary home department to immediately leave for Kasur, he said both officers would discharge affairs of their concerning departments in connection with both cases. He said that he was under extreme agony and stress due to this case and only wanted the arrest of the accused.
