WAPDA beat PTV, enter National One-Day Departmental Cup final

Three half-centuries and left-arm pacer Muhammad Irfan’s three wickets steered WAPDA into the final of National One-Day Departmental Cup, as they beat PTV by nine wickets in the second semi-final at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Ground in Karachi on Friday.

Asked to bat first, PTV could only manage 231-9 in 50 overs as Irfan took three wickets for 33 runs.

For PTV, Saud Shakeel (47) and Hasan Raza (34) were the top scorers.


In reply, WAPDA reached the target 234 in the 44th over, losing just one wicket of Kamran Akmal, who scored 87 runs off 86 balls courtesy 11 fours and three sixes.

Salman Butt was unbeaten on 75 off 103 balls while Bismillah Khan was not out on 67 off 70 balls.

For PTV, Waleed Malik took the only wicket giving away 49 runs.
