Deceased woman’s brother refutes claim of suicide

SHABQADAR: Khasadar force on Thursday arrested a man in Mohmand  agency for allegedly killing his wife and claiming she had committed suicide.

The political administration of lower Mohmand agency confirmed that a man had been arrested on the charge of purported honour killing.’

The man Anwar Khan of Ambar Lower Mohmand agency allegedly killed his wife Asiay Bibi on Thursday .

Initially it was reported that Asiay may have committed suicide at home by hanging herself. However the deceased woman’s brother on Thursday filed a complaint  that his sister did not commit suicide but was brutally murdered by her  husband in the name of honour.

The administration after investigation concluded that she had  not committed  suicide but was killed by her husband. The Khasadar official arrested the culprit and put him behind bars in the political administration’s lock up under FCR.

Meanwhile the lower Mohmand administration conducted a simple ceremony to inaugurate a three-day polio eradication campaign in Mohmand which will commence from Monday (Janauary 15). In which 98,000 children are expected to be immunised .
