HYDERABAD: A Mirpurkhas district and sessions court ordered on Thursday the police to register an FIR and arrest four police officials for keeping two juvenile brothers in illegal detention. The court gave two days to the police for compliance.

The policemen have been blamed for the illegal detention of juvenile brothers, 14-year-old Shahbaz Mahar and 12-year-old Afzal Mahar. On an application of the brothers’ father Waryam Mahar, the court had earlier ordered a judicial raid at Tando Jan Muhammad police station from where the brothers were recovered.

Waryam claimed that the police locked up his sons following theft from some shops in the area on January 5 but they were not nominated in the FIR.
