Curbing spread of influenza

Letter January 12, 2018
Although the spread of the virus is seasonal and probably gets cured in a couple of days

LAHORE: With cases being reported every day, the spread of the Influenza virus is on the rise in Punjab. Out of a total of 120 cases reported across the country, seven are from Islamabad, whereas another 47 are from Multan and other regions of Punjab. As the epidemic of Influenza virus is contagious, with numerous cases and deaths reported over the past four to five months across Punjab, it is important that precautionary measures and guidelines are issued by the authorities concerned. Although the spread of the virus is seasonal and probably gets cured in a couple of days, the alarming number of deaths point at the lack of safety measures and use of vaccination to prevent the threat of infection.
